Independently performs clinical laboratory procedures and tests necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of patients, as per attending physician's orders, including the quality control procedures necessary to assure the accuracy of test systems and results prior to releasing such results. Be able to trouble shoot.
Use or operate a variety of routine and specialized clinical laboratory instruments and equipment in the collection, processing, description, and analysis of specimens. Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment. Performs as phlebotomist. Also be on call when necessary.
Employees in this position work from broad policies and on general objectives, referring specific matters to supervisor only when interpretation or clarification of policies is necessary.
Minimum
Qualifications:
H.S. Grad or equivalent and B.S. degree in laboratory science. Current valid CA state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license. Current BLS Health Care Provider certification preferred.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
