Supervisory Human Resources Specialist
Supervise Human Resources Assistants Provides work schedules, direction and review of subordinate level work. Responsible for coordinating, planning, organizing, training and security to all programs assigned under direction. Serves as primary SHRO representative for processing personnel actions and personnel records management. Develops and maintains internal policies and procedures for assigned programs and processes. Ensures staff receives appropriate training and guidance on Human Resources topics and programs. Oversees submittal of all documents to an employee electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) Works closely with the Human Resources Information Systems branch to coordinate processing needs and troubleshoot actions. Serves as advisor regarding pay and leave administration issues. Coordinates with payroll office to resolve any pay relates issues. Oversee pre-employment clearance processes. To qualify for this position at the GS-9 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level. Specialized Experience is defined as professional experience providing technical and administrative support for a human resources, personnel, or administrative office involving the application of personnel management principles, concepts, practices and techniques in Federal personnel action processing, pay and leave administration, personnel suitability processing, personnel records management & benefits. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree in courses related to the occupation, such as:
human resources, organizational psychology, public administration or other administrative and management fields; or L.L.B. or J.D., if related. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. Posses an equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education. For example, I have six months of specialized experience (50% of the experience requirements) and 18 semester hours of graduate education as described above (50% of the education requirement).The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.
